John Maynard Smith and Evolution

This video was hard to comprehend and really grasp what he was talking about. The only thing that I was able to pick out was that he gave up his faith because it wasn't giving him what he wanted. If I knew more about the mathematics behind it all, I think I would be able to understand a bit more. The game theory was interesting because it applied to animals and the reasoning genes in humans. Maybe this is all just a game and there is someone up there getting a kick out of the misery that is going on with poverty, war, global warming.

The frequency dependant selection was interesting because its based on what we are depending on or what is in demand. This relates to the everyday life because we all want the newest gadget or the latest fashion, but no one is really demanding the natural things that we can't control. If we stopped using all our natural resources for the latest in technology or media, maybe we wouldn't be running out as fast as we really are. This video was interesting from what I was able to get out of it, maybe I should look more into this to see what he was really talking about.
